Recently, we celebrated 1 year in business and looking back, it was a scary start fulfilling my livelong dream of running a cookery school.
My name is Siobhan O’Leary and I am married to Paul who supports me in all my ventures. Together, we have 3 wonderful children, Orlaith, Ruairi and Aoife. We also run the very successful B&B La Cita. So, life is busy here at Wooden Spoons Cookery School in Killeens, near Blarney.
I have cooked with my mum since I was a tiny girl and you could always see me watching my mum creating delicious meals, tasty cakes and homemade bread. I got the bug from her and after having completed my culinary arts studies many years ago, threw myself into my business and family. But the idea of opening a cookery school to teach the way I was taught by my mother, never left me. So, here we are – over a year ago, I had my own kitchen enlarged and installed state-of-the-art appliances and started offering cookery camps for local children. We were blown away by the response and have never looked back.
In addition to the cookery camps, we also offer birthday cookery parties with the birthday girl/boy being crowned head chef for the day and together, the children are creating cupcakes, pizza and more. Each party can be customised to suit the birthday child.
We also offer special adult classes and can create a class for a group of min 10 guests. Perfect for a girl’s night out or team-building exercise for a small team.
I am looking forward to welcoming you to the Wooden Spoon Cookery School
